Two humped Bactrian camel is an endemic of the Central Asian steppe and Mongolia. The Bactrian camel is much rarer than dromedary, counted between 1.5 and 2 million, and most of them domesticated. About 950 Bactrian camels still live in the wild in central Asia, essentially in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia.
